Pablo Torre has found it hard to get regular minutes this season at FC Barcelona under Hansi Flick.

The midfield talent has done very well every time he has been called upon by the manager. But it has not been enough for him to nail down a regular berth in Flick’s setup.

Torre not going anywhere

Amidst his unfavourable situation at Barcelona, Pablo Torre has made a clear decision about his future, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Although anything is possible until the last day of the transfer window – set for 3 February – the former Racing Santander starlet has no intention of leaving the club at this moment.

On the contrary, despite not having featured in La Liga since 30 November, and also missing out on the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, Torre is determined to fight for more playing time under Flick.

With the team still active in all competitions, the young midfielder understands that the coach will need to give opportunities to players who have had less involvement. And he is clear in his mind that he must be ready when his chance comes.

So far, in La Liga, he has played in just seven matches, accumulating 248 minutes, but has three goals and an assist to his name.

At present, the Copa del Rey has been his main platform, starting against Barbastro, where he played 81 minutes, and featuring for 13 minutes in the Round of 16 vs. Betis. In 94 minutes in total, he has a goal and two assists.

A valuable asset

Despite the fierce competition in the midfield with Pedri, Marc Casad, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo, Torre is a well-regarded resource at Barcelona. He is valued for his ability to offer something different and change the course of a match.

Furthermore, a potential departure for the 21-year-old would also not offer any significant relief in terms of Fair Play margin as he has a low wage.

As a result, Barcelona have no intention of seeking to offload Torre during this winter market, while the midfielder is committed to staying at the club and fighting for more minutes.

The Spaniard understands that securing a starting spot is difficult, but competing in such a prestigious team and thriving in this environment could offer far more benefits than seeking a loan move to a smaller club this winter.
