The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have come to the decision to extend the contract terms of head coach Hansi Flick.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Friday provided an insight into the situation.

Flick, for his part, is of course in the midst of an altogether productive debut campaign in Catalunya’s capital.

Save for a dip in form late in 2024, the German has overseen a La Liga title challenge, a place in 2nd in the newly-formatted Champions League, and even silverware, in the form of the Spanish Super Cup.

Add to this the fact that Barcelona currently stand as the highest-scoring outfit in Europe’s top-5 leagues, and it should not come as a major surprise to hear of those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou having been left impressed by the efforts of their side’s new boss.

So much so that the ex-Bayern Munich headmaster, after just half a season in the job, is being lined up for a contract renewal.

That’s according to Sport, who have late this week confirmed:

‘The club want to extend his contract and will talk in June to prevent him from starting next season with only one year left on his contract.’
