Barcelona legend Lionel Messi bags latest prestigious individual award
Former Barcelona star Lionel Messi has late this week added to his silverware cabinet once more.
This comes amid confirmation that the Argentine has been named Major League Soccer Player of the Year.
Messi for his part took to the pitch on 22 occasions this season, between the MLS regular season and cup playoffs.
And, over the course of as much, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner continued to prove himself the standout performer in American soccer.
All told, in 22 appearances for Inter Miami, Messi racked up 32 direct goal contributions (21G, 11A).
An, as alluded to above, on the eve of the upcoming MLS Cup final between the LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls, the veteran attacker has been rewarded for such efforts.
This comes amid confirmation that Messi has been voted MLS Player of the Year for 2024:
