Barcelona and Spain sensation Lamine Yamal on Sunday night secured for himself a frankly remarkable individual benchmark.

As much came by way of his exploits en route to Spain clinching glory in the European Championships.

The finale of Euro 2024, of course, was played out yesterday evening, as Luis de la Fuente’s troops locked horns with England in Berlin.

When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged triumphant, by two goals to one.

This came owing to goals on the part of Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal, either side of Cole Palmer’s equaliser for England.

The aforementioned Lamine, though, on his way to being named Young Player of the Tournament, again produced a telling moment of his own.

The 17-year-old was responsible for laying on close friend Nico’s opener, courtesy of an inch-perfect left-footed pass.

And, in the process, Lamine secured yet more history.

As revealed by One Football, the Barcelona starlet’s latest assist took his tally of direct goal contributions to five, across four knockout fixtures at international tournaments.

Incredibly, this is the same number as has been managed by the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo, in no fewer than 18 more appearances.
