Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal gets his revenge after Adrien Rabiot’s pre-match comments

Spain and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal answered the challenge laid out by France’s Adrien Rabiot in the most spectacular fashion imaginable on Tuesday night.

As much came by way of his exploits in Spain’s showdown with France.

Luis de la Fuente’s troops are of course locked in action at present, with a place in the final of the European Championships at stake.

It was France who opened the scoring in the matchup, upon Randal Kolo Muani nodding home at the back post.

Spain, though, took little time in turning things around.

And it was that man Lamine who kicked as much into gear.

Before Dani Olmo’s go-ahead strike for La Roja, his 16-year-old teammate conjured up a Goal of the Tournament contender.

Dropping the shoulder in the middle of the park, Lamine unleashed the most sumptuous of left-footed efforts, which rattled off Mike Maignan’s post before finding the far corner.

And, in the process, the Barcelona sensation answered the challenge laid down to him by a leading French star…

In the buildup to tonight’s matchup, Adrien Rabiot had the following to say when drawn on the talents boasted by Spain’s attacking prodigy:

“If Lamine wants to play in the final, he will have to do much more than he has done (at the tournament) so far…”

And Lamine went on to manage not only that, but, en route to levelling the score, left Rabiot for dead with a cut inside onto his left foot…
