Barcelona continue to pursue out-of-favour Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford as we enter the final week of the winter transfer window.

The Blaugrana see the 27-year-old Englishman as a key target to reinforce their attack but cannot go through with his signing unless there is an exit to free up salary space.

Meanwhile, Rashford continues to attract significant interest from elsewhere, with West Ham United emerging as the latest suitors for the forward.

On top of that, Mundo Deportivo now reports that Rashford has also turned down a bumper contract offer from Saudi Arabia as he continues to wait for Barcelona.

The Manchester United outcast intends to remain in Europe with the aim of continuing his international career with the England national team. And his priority is still to join the Catalan club.

To that end, Rashford has rejected a mammoth £600,000-a-week offer from a Saudi Arabian club – almost double his salary at Manchester United.

Having rejected such a lucrative deal, the versatile forward is open to reducing his salary in order to secure a transfer to Barcelona.

If there are no player departures from the club, Barça will need not only Rashford to lower his salary but also for Manchester United to cover at least half of the player’s wages.

However, the Red Devils have made it clear that any club wanting to sign the forward will need to cover his wages fully, creating complications for the Blaugrana.

With only a week left before the transfer window slams shut, it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds in the coming days.
