Barcelona are in a financial bind and need to generate significant income to comply with Financial Fair Play rules. This situation means that the team may have to make some difficult decisions, including selling key players.

According to a report from SPORT, one of Ronald Araujo or Raphinha might be sacrificed to help the team meet these financial requirements.

The summer transfer window promises to be intense for Barcelona. The club first needs to balance the books to comply with the 1:1 spending rule.

This is expected to be achieved by mid-July. Once that’s done, the club plans to make a major sale to fund the acquisition of two primary targets: a central midfielder and a winger.

The challenge for Barcelona is to raise enough money to proceed with these operations. One part of this money will come from savings on the salaries of players who are not in the club’s plans.

However, these savings alone will not be sufficient. Therefore, the club is considering a significant sale, which is not a decision they want to make. The two main candidates for this sale are Araujo and Raphinha.

The outlet suggests that Araujo is still a crucial part of the team. However, Barcelona suspect that he might have already received a substantial offer from Manchester United.

The club has reached its limit in terms of salary offer for Araujo’s renewal and will not improve the deal. If Araujo does not accept the current offer, he will be put on the market for a price higher than €75 million.

This amount should be enough to secure the two players Barcelona needs and also support other team reinforcements through loans.

If Araujo stays, then the focus shifts to Raphinha. Sporting Director Deco has been hesitant to sell the Brazilian, but the situation changes if Nico Williams joins the team.

With Nico on board, the wings will be occupied, leaving no space for Raphinha. Additionally, there is an attractive offer from Saudi Arabia where Raphinha could triple his salary.

This deal could be beneficial for all parties involved, though the main issue is that Raphinha is not keen on leaving Barcelona. Despite his reluctance, drastic decisions might be necessary for the club to progress.

While Raphinha has been performing well, Nico is seen as capable of adding more to the attack and could bring a fresh wave of enthusiasm among the fans. All these factors need to align for the best outcome.
