Despite the efforts made by FC Barcelona to curb their fitness-based shortcomings, the club remains riddled with injuries. Many key players of the team are currently still recovery from their respective injuries. Moreover, it seems that Barcelona will have to wait quite some time before their squad is entirely fit and available again.

The likes of Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Ronald Araujo are all currently out injured. When fit, those three are names that come right back into the starting eleven for Barça without any question. Unfortunately for Hansi Flick, he will have to make do without those players for at least the nearest upcoming games in the official season.

However, there are some rays of hope that continue to shine their favor upon Barcelona. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, 20-year-old Spanish midfielder Gavi continues to meet his recovery deadlines as he looks to overcome the hurdles in front of him caused by his ACL injury from last year.

While the player will not be returning to the pitch any time soon, the latest update on his recovery has been met with a lot of positivity. The club recently shared images of him training independently at the Ciutat Esportiva both with the ball and without it, something that provides a lot of joy to fans of La Blaugrana.

Moreover, with news coming out that Pedri recently completed an entire training session with his teammates, there is only additional joy to be enjoyed by Barcelona. For both young midfielders, however, the club will still choose to exercise extreme caution and it is thoroughly justified as well.

While fans of the team and the players would love to see both Pedri and Gavi back on the field again, it must be remembered that these youngsters need to be given the right amount of time to make a full recovery. Forcing them to return before they are fully prepared would only result in even more frustrations for Barcelona to suffer in the future.

Until they return, however, Hansi Flick and Barcelona must turn to their other options. The arrival of Dani Olmo certainly makes things interesting and he is a player who can provide a lot of quality in various positions thanks to his versatility. It simply remains to be seen how or when he is properly deployed.
