Barcelona gem scores screamer to become youngest ever Euro goalscorer

In a game where many Barcelona players were taking part, many eyes were on one man. The grand clash between Spain and France, for a spot in the final of the Euros, did not disappoint at any given minute. However, the Barcelona player who everyone seemed to have an eager eye on certainly did not disappoint either.

Ahead of the game, there was a lot of talk and excitement about 16-year-old Lamine Yamal. The Spanish winger and Barça prodigy has been having an exceptional tournament, but what is also true is that there was just one major record that was still evading him all this time.

However, it can evade him no longer as he has done what many had hoped he would be able to do. Against France, on the biggest of stages, the Barcelona prodigy scored a screamer of a goal against Les Bleus at a point in the match when a hero was needed by the Spanish team to become the youngest ever goalscorer in the Euros.

Lo and behold, a hero did arrive in the form of a 16-year-old bright young winger. The Barcelona gem, poetically right in front of Adrien Rabiot, shifted his weight to evade a bundle of French players near the 20th minute mark, and then shot a vicious attempt from quite a distance that clipped the post and went in past Mike Maignan.

With this goal, Yamal now officially becomes the youngest ever goalscorer in the history of the European Championship, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. A record that evaded him previously, and with this being his only chance to break it, the Barcelona gem did it in style. The game is still not over, but Spain will look to now get this win in the bag with their 2-1 lead.

Yamal, so far in this tournament, already has four goal contributions. The Barcelona star has provided three assists already, which is the highest tally for any player in the competition, and has now scored an unreal goal as well to put the cherry on top.
