Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has failed to make the desired impression following his return to the club after a season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Having suffered an injury in pre-season, the Spanish attacker missed the early parts of the campaign but has been unable to make the most of whatever chances he has been afforded by manager Hansi Flick.

In fact, following a dull display against Real Sociedad this weekend, reports emerged stating that the Barcelona head coach is not entirely confident about whether Fati can contribute on the pitch, as a starter or even from the bench.

Real Sociedad interested

As such, there have already been rumours about a possible January exit for Ansu Fati, with Barcelona being open to letting him leave if he asks for it.

Sevilla are one of the clubs to have shown an interest in the 22-year-old and now Fichajes reports that another La Liga team, Real Sociedad, have also taken a liking towards the Barça academy graduate.

In the handful of appearances that he has made this season, Fati has failed to show the spark that made him a huge hit early in his career at Barcelona.

As such, there are concerns growing within the board and coaching staff, who are already beginning to see an exit as the best option for both the player and the club.

Amidst the situation, Real Sociedad have been closely monitoring Fati’s situation, and do not hide their interest in integrating him into their ranks.

The Basque outfit would welcome the opportunity to strengthen their attack with a young player with great potential like Fati.

The Spanish attacker could also benefit from playing at a club where the scrutiny and the pressure are not as intense as at Barcelona.
