Barcelona fans will love Atalanta boss Gasperini’s comments on their side ahead of UCL clash

A round of comments laid out by Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini regarding upcoming opponents Barcelona has today piqued widespread attentions.

This comes after the Italian made use of the opportunity to lavish praise on the Blaugrana as an institution.

One of the most highly-anticipated matchups in the final round of league phase fixtures in the newly-formatted Champions League is of course set to play out in Catalunya’s capital later tonight.

As much will see Barcelona act as hosts, in a showdown with Europa League holders Atalanta.

Ahead of what he considers to be something of a litmus test for his side, Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini was in turn today drawn on Hansi Flick’s side.

And the 67-year-old went on to wax lyrical, labelling Barca ‘the ultimate Spanish club’:
