After ten months out of action, Barcelona midfield sensation Gavi finally made his return to group training earlier today.

The 20-year-old received a hearty welcome from his teammates as he took part in his first group session since being sidelined with an ACL injury all the way back in November 2023.

Building on that, journalist Javi Miguel now reports that if there are no setbacks, Gavi will receive his medical discharge in 15 days.

If so, it will be a major boost for Barcelona, who have been hit hard by injuries in midfield.

Indeed, apart from Gavi, new manager Hansi Flick has had to make do without Frenkie de Jong, whose return date is still unclear, while Fermin Lopez and Marc Bernal have also fallen prey to injuries.

It has left Flick to contend with only Pedri, Marc Casado, Dani Olmo, and Pablo Torre in the midfield and No. 10 positions.

But, Gavi’s imminent return will alleviate some of those worries, although it is important that neither the player nor the club rush into things.

After all, the 20-year-old sensation, viewed as a future club captain, has been out of action for ten months, that too with a serious and complicated injury.

As such, one can expect his reintroduction into the scheme of things to be gradual and it will further likely take him a few weeks to get into 100% match fitness and rhythm.

But, as things stand, if nothing else goes wrong, Gavi will receive the green light from the Barcelona medical department in 15 days.
