Barcelona discover another La Masia pearl who could become the ‘Luis Suarez replacement’
Barcelona have unearthed another gem from La Masia, and this time, the spotlight is on two talented cousins, Toni and Guille Fernandez.
Both 16-year-olds were standout performers during Barça Atletic’s match against Ourense, which took place at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in Group 1 of the Primera RFEF.
By half-time, Barcelona were leading 3-0, and much of the credit goes to the Fernandez cousins, who were both starters.
The game’s first goal came from a penalty scored by Victor Barbera, setting the tone for what was to come. However, it was Toni who truly stole the show.
Special night for Toni
After a slick one-two exchange with Urena, he executed a brilliant acrobatic shot with his left foot, sending the ball rocketing into the net.

What made this moment even more special was that it was Toni’s first match with the reserve team, as he had just returned from a minor muscle injury.
Despite his limited experience at this level, Toni showcased incredible talent and versatility, playing as a left-footed winger – a role similar to Lamine Yamal.
He is also capable of playing as a ‘9’, which makes him an even more promising prospect for Barcelona.
This stunning goal not only demonstrated his potential but also saw him break a record, becoming the youngest scorer in the reserve team’s history at just 16 years, one month, and three days old.
Just before the break, Toni teamed up with his cousin Guille for yet another memorable play. After another one-two exchange, Guille took the ball and powered a shot past the Ourense goalkeeper, scoring another impressive goal.
Guille, a right-footed midfielder, is also showing great potential for the future of the club.
With Toni’s remarkable performance, many are already wondering if he could be the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, given his goal-scoring ability and attacking versatility. Barcelona may have found their next superstar in this young La Masia product.
