Barcelona dealt alarming Euro 2024 injury blow
La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday been dealt a blow on the personnel front.
This comes owing to developments in the Euro 2024 showdown between Spain and Germany.
A trio of Barca stars were afforded starting berths in the matchup, in the form of Pedri, Lamine Yamal, and İlkay Gündoğan.
With mere minutes on the clock in Stuttgart, however, one such member of Hansi Flick’s squad was forced into a departure from proceedings.
The player in question? Pedri.
After rolling into space in midfield, Pedri was unceremoniously taken out by departing Real Madrid star Toni Kroos, whose heavy challenge left the 21-year-old grounded, and in evident pain.
After attempting to run the problem off, Pedri was ultimately left with no choice but to limp off, with what appears to be a knee concern.
It now remains to be seen whether or not the issue keeps the Barcelona standout sidelined for any kind of extended period.
Toni Kroos wasn't shown a yellow card after this challenge on Pedri less than five minutes into Spain-Germany.
