While many Barcelona players have enjoyed success on the international stage with their respective national teams, it has not entirely been smooth sailing.

Indeed, two of the Catalans’ most important players, Pedri and Ronald Araujo, recently sustained injuries. Pedri is expected to be sidelined for six weeks, while Araujo is anticipated to miss two months.

Their absence does not bode well for Barcelona considering that Hansi Flick will begin the pre-season without two of the team’s lynchpins.

However, the financial compensation provided by FIFA offers some relief, particularly given Barcelona’s frail financial state.

What will Barcelona receive for Ronald Araujo?

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barça will receive approximately €1 million from FIFA as compensation for Ronald Araujo’s injury.

The compensation will begin after 28 consecutive days of absence, starting on August 3. If the initial predictions of a two-month absence for the Uruguayan due to a muscle injury are confirmed, Barcelona will receive approximately €719,180 as a minimum.

The figure could approach the €1 million mark if the defender spends more time on the sidelines.

This calculation is based on a daily compensation of €20,548, with a maximum limit of €7,500,000 per player per incident.

Every day that the Uruguayan is absent from August 3 until he is cleared to play, Barça will receive about €21,000 per day. The entire annual cap for the FIFA Club Protection Program is €80 million.

Barcelona will also benefit from players participating in Euros

Meanwhile, reports have previously mentioned that Barcelona stand to generate more than €2.5 million from their players’ involvement in the Euros.

This figure may exceed €3 million, depending on their performances and progression in the tournament.

On top of that, the Blaugrana will also receive some compensation from UEFA if Pedri’s injury lasts greater than 28 days as well.
