Cesc Fabregas-led Como have raised quite a few eyebrows through their transfer activity this summer.

The Serie A outfit notably made headlines by acquiring the services of former Barcelona superstar Sergi Roberto. They have also signed Real Madrid youth prodigy Nico Paz.

But apart from these two, there have been headline transfers such as Raphael Varane, Andrea Belotti and Emil Audero.

Como’s hunt for new signings continue even as we enter the final week of the transfer market, with the defensive unit, in particular, emerging as a key point of interest.

How Como can come to Barcelona’s aid

According to SPORT, Como are keeping close tabs on the Spanish market in their bid to bolster the ranks in defence, with former Barcelona youth player Mika Marmol emerging as a potential target.

As per the report, Como are considering meeting Marmol’s €10 million release clause, with head coach Cesc Fabregas particularly fond of the player.

Although Marmol currently plies his trade for Las Palmas, Barcelona had reserved a 50% sell-on fee clause in his contract.

That means the Catalans are entitled to €5 million if Como do end up meeting the player’s €10 million release clause.

This could bode well for Barcelona, who are in dire need of funds as they look to register new signing Dani Olmo.

The €10 million sale of Marmol, to that end, could go a long way in boosting Barça’s offers and help them move a step closer to returning to the 1:1 rule.

Barcelona do have the option of meeting Como’s potential €10 million offer for Marmol, but it is unlikely the club would utilise that.
