FC Barcelona are currently learning and working under the guidance of German coach Hansi Flick. So far, both the results and the performances have been up to the standard that has been expected. However, the complete staff of the new Barcelona coach has faced one change since the summer.

Previously, former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara was a part of the team that was helping Hansi Flick settle into his new position as head coach of La Blaugrana. While his spoke German and English is good, he lacks fluency in Spanish and that is where Thiago came in to help.

He would make sure to better convey the emotions and feelings of the former Bayern Munich coach to the players and ensure a better understanding was there for what Hansi Flick wanted out of his team. However, Thiago was ultimately not mentioned as an official member of Flick’s coaching staff and was instead simply on a learning internship of sorts.

Now, however, Alex Pintanel (h/t Reshad Rahman) reports that Barcelona is already considering and working on the possibility of Thiago returning. In case the former Barcelona, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich star makes a second return to help the coaching team, it could be likely that it is permanent this time.

Even in recent Barcelona games, Thiago could be seen in the stadium attending those matches with his family. He even greeted the injured Marc Bernal at a recent game and likely asked him about his injury and how it is progression. Rather fitting given that Thiago has had his own injury problems as well throughout his career.

A player who hailed from La Masia himself at a stage of his career, he manages to relate and resonate well with the youngsters at Barcelona. That was another one of the perks that having Thiago gave Hansi Flick and a potential return would mean that the German coach regains that sense of connection.

For now, however, there has been no official statement or move towards making this happen. However, there has been speculation in the past as well that Thiago could potentially return at the start of next year but it remains to be seen just how interested Barça is in making that happen.
