Hansi Flick experienced his first red card as a Barcelona coach, as he was sent off during the club’s most recent clash with Real Betis.

Flick was sent off after protesting the decision to award Real Betis a penalty in the second half. Although the German did not exactly show any contempt, he was sent off nonetheless, leaving many, including Flick himself, in disbelief.

When will Flick return to touchline at Montjuic?

Although Barcelona are expected to appeal against Flick’s red card, there is a stark possibility that the German, if current sanctions hold, will have to spend a considerable amount of time away from the sidelines.

As reported by Diario SPORT, Flick could be ruled out of the touchline at the Montjuic for about a month and a half.

That is because the suspension will apply to two home matches for Barcelona in La Liga, thereby ruling Hansi Flick out for the games against Leganes and Atletico Madrid.

Barça are set to take on Leganes on December 15, while the Atletico Madrid is scheduled for December 21. Flick will be unavailable for these two data.

The German will only be allowed to return to the Barcelona bench at Montjuic on January 26, when the Catalans take on Valencia.

Till the time Flick is out of action at Montjuic, his assistant Oliver Sorg is set to lead the players from the touchline.

However, it must be noted that Flick will be available to feature on the touchline in non-La Liga matches at the Montjuic, meaning he will be present in matches against Borussia Dortmund, Athletic Club and SL Benfica.
