How has Barcelona boss Hansi Flick responded to Ansu Fati’s injury?

An insight into the reaction of Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick to news of Ansu Fati’s latest injury setback has this evening been provided.

The name of wide-man Ansu has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday.

This comes owing to confirmation that the 21-year-old, fresh off an injury-ravaged season out on loan from Barcelona, is facing up to yet another spell on the sidelines.

After limping out of training on Wednesday morning, it was later revealed by the Blaugrana themselves that Ansu has suffered a foot injury.

The Spanish international, as a result, is expected to spend around three weeks on the treatment table.

This, for obvious reasons, marks a heavy blow for Ansu himself, amid ongoing efforts on the part of the youngster to convince new manager Hansi Flick of his deservingness of spending the season ahead as part of his squad.

With Flick having planned on making use of Barca’s upcoming tour of the USA to test his talented winger in a competitive setting, it had in turn been suggested by some sources that Ansu’s chances of staying put for 2024/25 have today been heavily dented.

This, however, is in fact not the case.

As per a report from Blaugrana insider Toni Juanmartí, Hansi Flick has already ‘spoken to Ansu and reassured him’.

During the discussion in question, the German tactician made clear that ‘this does not change the plan.’ It is therefore ‘not ruled out that Ansu stays’.
