There are some major progressions begin made at FC Barcelona this summer. Beyond any doubt, the Catalan club is now gradually working towards recruiting their key targets. While the finances are still not in an ideal position, Barcelona have already made up their mind it seems.

Recently, news broke out that the interest in Hull City winger Jaden Philogene was now getting stronger from the perspective of Barcelona. Moreover, it was being reported that the Catalan club sees the 22-year-old winger as a solid alternative option who would cost around €20 million to sign and bring in.

Unfortunately for Philogene, the latest reports suggest the complete opposite to be true. According to Gerard Romero’s Jijantes FC, the player’s possible signing to Barcelona is now more jeopardized than ever. He is no longer close to joining La Blaugrana, and it is because the club has never really shown interest in signing him.

Beyond just a meeting with the player’s agent to discuss a possibility of his signing, Barcelona have gone on to practically do nothing else. Furthermore, even the player and his agent are beginning to see that Barcelona are making no major moves and they will instead look to sign someone else entirely.

While the English winger himself would prefer a move to FC Barcelona and actively makes it a priority destination for himself, that is not a mutual feeling at the moment. For Barça, the main target remains Athletic Club star Nico Williams, and now both Philogene and his agent seem to be aware of it.

In fact, they believe the club will be diverting as many resources as they possibly can to sign the 21-year-old Spanish star. Barcelona were previously confused between their various options on the wings, but after seeing Williams explode on the European stage with the other Barcelona stars representing Spain, the club is no longer willing to let go of this opportunity to sign one of world football’s most exciting wingers.
