It seems like FC Barcelona will be going on a contract renewal spree in the coming days with the aim to secure the futures of all the players seen as a part of the team’s plans for the present and the future.

Ronald Araujo signed his new contract on Thursday, committing to the club until the summer of 2031. Meanwhile, Gerard Martin’s renewal until 2028 was announced earlier today.

The Blaugrana also have an agreement to renew Pedri’s contract, which could be announced in the coming days.

Gavi’s contract renewal almost done

Now, MARCA reports that there is another player whose renewal is heating up and close to being completed: Gavi.

The La Masia midfielder’s current contract with Barcelona runs until June 2026, and only a few minor details remain to secure his continuity for at least another four or five seasons.

The exact end date of the new agreement is one of the remaining issues to resolve.

Barcelona and Gavi began discussions on his renewal several months ago. The process has been slow but steady, as both parties were clear from the start that they wanted to continue their association.

For the Blaugrana, the midfielder is a crucial figure for the present and the future. At just 20 years old, he is one of the most committed and involved players in the dressing room.

This strong sense of belonging has not stopped other clubs from showing interest in him, but the player’s desire has always been to stay at Barcelona, and this is now very close to being finalised.

Furthermore, Gavi feels highly valued by his teammates, the coaching staff, and the Barça supporters.

The acceleration of the La Masia gem’s renewal talks also coincides with his full recovery and his continued presence in Hansi Flick’s starting XI.

Having fully overcome the serious injury he sustained over a year ago, Gavi has already participated in 19 matches this season and has been one of the key factors behind Barcelona’s solid start to 2025, even displacing Dani Olmo as Flick’s preferred starter at No. 10.

Although the 2020 Golden Boy winner’s signature is not imminent – unlike Pedri’s, which is expected to be signed in the coming days – his renewal is very much on track.
