Barcelona 20-year-old returning loanee will be a first-team player next season

Barcelona are all set to welcome back a number of players who spent the last season on loan and not all are guaranteed to continue at the club.

Indeed, the likes of Clement Lenglet and Ansu Fati appear to be staring at uncertain futures while Eric Garcia seems to be a part of new manager Hansi Flick’s plans although the defender has some concerns about his continuity.

Alex Valle set for a first-team role

Now, SPORT has come forward with an update on the situation of another of Barcelona’s returning loanees, Alex Valle.

The 20-year-old left-back, a product of La Masia, spent the last season away on loan at UD Levante, where he played fairly regularly, although he did suffer from a lack of minutes towards the end of the season.

With Marcos Alonso leaving Barcelona as a free agent, the club need a new left-back to act as backup for Alejandro Balde and the Catalans have decided to count on Valle instead of going for a new signing.

As such, the report suggests that the Blaugrana have assured Valle that he will be a first-team player for next season.

Alex Valle happy and hopeful

SPORT further states that Alex Valle is very happy at Barcelona and is not considering leaving the club this summer.

The 20-year-old is hopeful that his registration as a first-team player with La Liga goes through without any hitches.

Furthermore, Valle is also hoping that Barcelona activate the one-year contract extension option in his current deal that runs down in 2025.

It would ensure an improvement in the player’s salary while also doing away with the risk of his release clause value dropping to €3 million from next month.
