Baker-Boaitey returns to Brighton from Port Vale

Port Vale's on-loan winger Benicio Baker-Boaitey has returned to Brighton following a five-month stay with the promotion-chasing League Two outfit.

Baker-Boaitey, who turns 21 on Thursday, signed on the eve of the new season from the Premier League club.

But he has been limited to 14 appearances in all competitions, most of them from the bench. He has been out injured for the past month - and had already gone back to Brighton for treatment.

"He leaves the club with nothing but the very best wishes from everybody here," said Vale boss Darren Moore. "He has showcased wonderful ability to get supporters off their seat and to be a real game changer when on his game.

"He has the attitude to go on and fulfil his potential within the game. I would like to thank Brighton and Hove Albion for entrusting us with his development."

Early leaders Vale, who lost top spot to Walsall in early December, are now fourth, 11 points behind the Saddlers, after ending their untimely nine-game winless run at Moore's old club Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
