Baby born at Lucas Oil Stadium game is related to Browns receiver David Bell

Week 7 of the NFL season offered more than just an exciting game-winning touchdown by Kareem Hunt. A woman gave birth to a baby inside Lucas Oil Stadium during Sunday's game between the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts. The unexpected arrival of the newborn added to the already intense atmosphere of the game.

Capital Improvement Board, the public entity that oversees the stadium, released a statement confirming the birth of the baby.

“We are excited to be a part of their history,” Capital Improvement Board officials said. “We also want to extend thanks to our partners at IU Health for being prepared for any medical situation.”

The woman of Browns wide receiver David Bell, who came to cheer him on in their hometown against the Colts. She was also hoping the excitement from the game would help induce labor for her baby who was due in the next few days.

According to Bell's mother, the baby was expected to be born on October 26th. However, as soon as the woman crossed the street heading to the stadium, she went into labor and gave birth just 20 minutes after kickoff.

Bell stated in an interview with WLFI that the baby, who surprised everyone with her arrival, is a girl and is healthy.

“Now I have a new niece, so hopefully I get to see her when I come back to the city,” Bell said.

The Cleveland Browns improve their record to 4-2 and will head to Seattle for a Week 8 matchup against the Seahawks.

Who is David Bell?

David Bell grew up in Indianapolis, Ind., and attended Warren Central High School. He went on to Purdue University, where he played as a wide receiver. In the 2022 NFL Draft, he was selected in the third round by the Cleveland Browns.

Almost 300 friends and family came to watch Bell play against his former high school teammate, Julius "JuJu" Brents, who plays cornerback for the Colts. It was a truly special homecoming game for him.

“For a lot of them, this was the first NFL game that they were able to come to, so it was definitely a blessing to see their baby boy’s dreams come to a reality and they can see it in full fruition,” Bell told WLFI.

The Cleveland Browns improve their record to 4-2 and will head to Seattle for a Week 8 matchup against the Seahawks.
