Auston Matthews Personalizes And Gifts Signed Maple Leafs Jersey To Justin Bieber’s Son, Jack

The next generation of Biebers is set to carry on the family’s Toronto Maple Leafs fandom.

Justin Bieber, the Stratford-born singer, and lifelong Leafs fan, received a heartfelt gift from his close friend and captain Auston Matthews on Monday.

The Canadian icon took to his Instagram account to showcase a photo of a personalized Matthews jersey from the star forward, captioning the story “4 babyJB,” while tagging Matthews.

The jersey, a No. 34 Leafs sweater, was personalized for Jack Bieber, Justin and Hailey Bieber’s son, who was born in August 2024. Inside the number ‘3,’ Matthews wrote a customized message: “To JB Jr, Peace and Love,” signing his signature inside the ‘4.’

The gesture signifies the close relationship between Matthews and Bieber, which has grown since the 27-year-old entered the NHL in 2016 and over his nine-year career with Toronto. Bieber has long been a vocal supporter of his hometown team, frequently attending games and spending time with Leafs stars Matthews and Mitch Marner, specifically.

The friendship has even extended to taking the ice with the star duo at one point in 2019, along with ex-Leaf Tyson Barrie.

More recently, Bieber served as a celebrity captain at the 2024 All-Star Game in Toronto alongside Tate McRae and Michael Bublé, playing an active role in assembling ‘Team Matthews,’ which included Matthews. Marner, Morgan Rielly, and William Nylander.

The team earned the victory in the All-Star exhibition game, with Bieber participating in warm-ups and being present as a coach behind the bench.

“This is unbelievable,” Bieber said during the event. “I feel like I actually had vivid dreams about this at night, so it’s beautiful.”

With his new jersey, Jack Bieber will now likely grow up surrounded by Maple Leafs memorabilia and it’s the perfect way to start his journey as a Maple Leafs fan.
