NAT099 – (War-Family-Reunification)
OTTAWA. x–18s. Immigration Minister Marc Miller is increasing the number of applications that will be processed under a much-criticized program to reunite people in the Gaza Strip with their Canadian relatives. The program initially had a cap of one-thousand applications that could be accepted into processing, but Miller is now increasing that number to five-thousand each of which can include multiple family members. Palestinian-Canadians have complained about inconsistent messaging and onerous requirements, but Miller says Ottawa is doing its best to bring relatives from Gaza to safety.

TAG: The N-D-P has accused the government of bungling the Gaza program as well another for people in Sudan, saying that the Liberals haven’t learned from issues that emerged after the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021.
