MONTREAL. x–15s. Montreal police are assuring citizens that the city is safe after a recent string of homicides, including the stabbing deaths of three young people last night. Commander Jean-Sebastien Caron of the police major crimes unit says the city’s murder rate remains low.

TAG: Three people, including a 15-year-old, died after a brawl broke out among 15 or 16 people in an alley in the city’s Plateau-Mont-Royal district late last night. Caron says the fight was rooted in a personal conflict and police don’t think it was related to organized crime.
