TORONTO. x–30s. Women’s professional basketball is coming to Canada. The W-N-B-A has awarded a franchise to Toronto, and it will be owned by Kilmer Sports Ventures — led by Larry Tanenbaum. He is also the chairman of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which owns the N-B-A’s Raptors and the N-H-L’s Maple Leafs. Canadian Press reporter Karen Rebot (REE’-boh) says both the league and its newest team owner are thrilled for its first expansion outside the U-S.
