VALLEY VIEW, Tx. x–13s. The death toll from severe weather in the southern U-S has risen to 18. Powerful storms left a wide trail of destruction across Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Seven deaths were reported in Cooke County, Texas, near the Oklahoma border, where a tornado Saturday night plowed through a rural area near a mobile home park. The dead included two children, aged two and five. Three family members were found dead in one home. Texas Governor Greg Abbott says it’s been a harrowing week.
