It’s already been a busy start to the summer for Atletico Madrid on the departure front. Memphis Depay, Mario Hermoso, Gabriel Paulista and Caglar Soyuncu have already departed, and they will soon be joined by two others.

Saul Niguez will have his contract mutually terminated, although while that process is ongoing, he has returned to Atleti for the start of pre-season training, which got underway on Thursday. Stefan Savic is also set to leave in the very near future, but unlike Saul, he was not at the first training sessions of the summer.

Marca have reported that Savic has been granted permission by Atleti to miss the start of pre-season, despite still being on the club’s books – the reason being is that he has been allowed to seal his move away.

It’s not yet known where Savic could end up. He’s been linked with moves to Türkiye and Saudi Arabia over the last few years, but as of right now, there are no concrete rumours on where he will be playing next season. One thing for certain is that he won’t be at Atletico Madrid.
