Atlético boss Simeone expects two new signings ‘in a few hours’
Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has on Saturday confirmed that reinforcements to his squad are imminent.
The Rojiblancos are currently in the midst of final preparations for their 2nd outing of the campaign, when they will lock horns with last season’s surprise package Girona, on Sunday night.
Boss Diego Simeone, in turn, took his place in front of the expectant media a short time ago.
The subject of the transfer market unsurprisingly dominated the discussion, with Atlético fresh off closing a deal with Portuguese heavyweights Porto, to part with youngster Samu Omorodion.

If the latest word on the part of the club’s headmaster is anything to go by, though, then the Atlético faithful can expect some imminent activity in the other direction, too.
During his pre-Girona press conference on Saturday, the Argentine was asked if he expects any more additions to his squad before the summer is out.
And the Argentine was as honest as ever with his response:
“Two players are still to arrive, and in a few hours, they will be with us.”
One of these two is expected to come in the form of Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet, who has agreed on the terms of a loan deal in Spain’s capital through the summer of 2025.
