Coronavirus tracker: Athletes and sports figures who have tested positive

The coronavirus pandemic is affecting all avenues of life, and the world of sports is no different.

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was diagnosed with coronavirus on Wednesday and the NBA subsequently suspended the remainder of the 2019-20 season as a result.

Gobert’s teammate, Donovan Mitchell, was also diagnosed with coronavirus, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

It was revealed on March 17 that four members of the Brooklyn Nets tested positive for coronavirus, and Kevin Durant identified himself as one of the players among the group.

The NBA stars aren’t the only athletes affected, and here is a list of the notable athletes who have been diagnosed thus far:

Marcus Smart, Boston Celtics

Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets

Christian Wood, Detroit Pistons

March 13

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chelsea

In addition, three unnamed players from Leicester City have been self-isolated due to the virus, manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed to the BBC. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also tested positive for COVID-19.

PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe was tested for coronavirus, but the test came back negative.

An unnamed member of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators tested positive for COVID-19, and has mild symptoms. The player is in self-isolation.

Two members of the Los Angeles Lakers have also tested positive for Coronavirus, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The positive tests may lead the team to test the rest of the players.

A member of the Boston Celtics also tested positive, according to a statement released by the team. The player has not been exhibiting symptoms and will continue to be monitored by the team’s medical staff. Celtics guard Marcus Smart released a video announcing that he had tested positive, and urged everyone to continue practicing social distancing,
