Atalanta close to Godfrey agreement with Everton

Atalanta are reportedly only a step away from signing Everton defender Ben Godfrey after improving on their offer.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are looking to bolster their backline this summer, needing some reinforcements after the departure of Jose Luis Palomino and serious injury suffered by Giorgio Scalvini.

Atalanta impressed under Gasperini in the 2023-24 season, securing a spot in the Champions League and winning their first trophy in decades after beating Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final, setting up an exciting campaign for the Bergamo outfit.
