Aston Villa sign Spanish international full-back Tomás

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Spanish international full-back Paula Tomás on a two-year deal with the option of a further year.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning.

Tomás joins Aston Villa from Spanish side Levante UD. The Villans have paid an undisclosed fee to secure her services.

The 22-year-old has spent her entire career to date with Levante. She successfully worked her way through the club’s reserve sides to go on to feature for the first team in the finetwork Liga F. Tomás made 89 league appearances for Levante in the Spanish top flight while she scored two goals.

On the international stage, Tomás made her senior debut for Spain last year. She has two caps to her name so far.

After adding Tomás to his squad, Aston Villa manager, Robert de Pauw said “Paula is a young and versatile player that can play as a full-back on both sides.

“She is able to defend well and also go up the flanks in attack. I think she will bring intelligence and determination to the team. I’m happy the club were able to bring her here.”

Tomás becomes Aston Villa’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
