Aston Villa predicted XI v Monaco: Donyell Malen ineligible, Diego Carlos suspended
There are several doubts within this Aston Villa side as they prepare to face AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Deigo Carlos is out through suspension, Ross Barkley and Pau Torres miss out through injury, and Donyell Malen, brought into Aston Villa earlier in the transfer window, is ineligible to play in these two final games of the Champions League ‘league phase’.
However, there are also plenty of question marks. John McGinn has travelled but it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough to start. He may have to settle for a place on the bench and the same could also go for midfielder Amadou Onana, who suffered a minor blow over the weekend. On a streak of hot form, Ollie Watkins is the favourite to lead the line for Aston Villa in the Principality.
Aston Villa likely line-up v Monaco
Emiliano Martinez; Lucas Digne, Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa, Matty Cash; Youri Tielemans, Boubacar Kamara; Jacob Ramsey, Morgan Rogers, Leon Bailey; Ollie Watkins.
