Aston Villa look to beat Man United to Kenan Yildiz with Emi Buendia swap
Aston Villa could overtake Manchester United in the race for Turkish international Kenan Yildiz.
Since Ruben Amorim has come into the club, the Red Devils have had to target different types of wingers due to his 3-4-3 system, which makes use of more centrally based attackers.
Moreover, the drama around Marcus Rashford’s future at the club after he admitted yesterday that he was ready for a new challenge means United will likely have to replace him in the market in the coming months.
One name that has come up to replace him is Juventus attacker Yildiz, who is having a standout season in Italy.
The teenager appeals to the club as he can play on the wing but also through the middle.
United have been tracking the player since the start of the year and have reportedly sent an “interesting proposal” to the Old Lady to snap up the player this summer.
Nonetheless, United will face stiff competition for such a talented prospect, and this is where Aston Villa come into play.
CaughtOffside report that “Aston Villa could include Emi Buendia as part of a swap deal for Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz.”
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on the 19 year old who has taken Juventus by storm, so Villa will need to come up with an interesting proposal to beat such illustrious rivals to his signature.
“It’s understood Juventus could demand up to £66m (€80m) for the 19-year-old, who already has 17 senior caps for Turkey to his name”, which significantly complicates matters for pursuing clubs.
One advantage Villa could have is they provide a more “direct path to regular senior football”, and former scout Bryan King claimed, “Buendía has been linked with a move away from the club, maybe they will offer him to Juventus? That could be something. However, Juventus do want £66million for the player.”
Yildiz certainly is an appealing prospect, as he has four goals and five assists in 23 matches this season.
