🤕 Aston Villa captain close to comeback but hit with another midfield blow
Unai Emery has revealed that Aston Villa captain John McGinn is nearing a return to action but that Ross Barkley faces a spell on the sidelines.
The Scotland international has been sidelined throughout January, putting his participation for the conclusion of the Villans' Champions League league stage in doubt but there is now fresh hope he will be fit to face Celtic.
However, an update on Barkley was much less positive, although the Spaniard also confirmed that Emiliano Martínez is expected to be fit to face Everton on Wednesday night after missing the FA Cup win over West Ham.
Unai Emery on #AVFC injuries: "Ross Barkley is two/three weeks more. (John) McGinn will need one-week minimum to be more or less close to being with us. Pau Torres will need another 6/8 weeks more."

Villa also welcome Jhon Durán and Morgan Rogers back from suspension.
