Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán as they aim to bolster their attack with a promising long-term addition.

Journalist Ben Jacobs highlighted PSG’s admiration for the Colombian striker but noted a major sticking point: Aston Villa’s hefty £80 million valuation. The figure reflects Durán’s impressive performances and his recent contract extension.

Aston Villa seem determined to keep Durán unless an extraordinary offer comes through. PSG, on the other hand, reportedly value the player at around £55 million, leaving a significant gap to bridge in negotiations. Meanwhile, other clubs are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

Jacobs also mentioned that Villa recently rejected a £57 million bid from West Ham, marking the Premier League side’s second attempt this transfer window. Villa are believed to be holding out for offers closer to £85 million (€100 million).

TEAMtalk reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that manager Enzo Maresca has informed the Chelsea board of his desire to sign a new striker before the January transfer window closes, with Durán emerging as a key target.

While Nicolas Jackson is well-regarded within the club, there’s acknowledgment that he’s not yet at the level of an elite striker, prompting the need for a more prolific goal scorer, according to the report.

Chelsea may have an opportunity to strike a deal, as Aston Villa are reportedly keen on signing João Félix before the window shuts. TEAMtalk claims this situation could lead to two separate agreements that work for both clubs, with Durán reportedly eager to join a team competing at the highest level.
