A 21-year absence from the top flight of Italian football has not stopped Como from going toe-to-toe with the competition in Serie A this season.
Cesc FÃ bregas' Lariani outfit are currently locking horns with giants Milan and losing 2-1 at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, but for a moment, home support felt a huge result could have been on the cards thanks to Assane Diao.
The 19-year-old Spanish U21 international bagged the match opener for the hosts to send fans into rapture while creating club history in the process.
19 - Assane Diao (19 years and 129 days) is the youngest foreign player to find the net for Como in Serie A; overall, he is the youngest scorer for the Lariani in the competition since Roberto Galia against Bologna, on 24 May 1981 (18y 69d). Freshness.#ComoMilan pic.twitter.com/fVx9MfwoMU

With that goal, Diao became the youngest foreign player to ever score a Serie A goal for the club, while also becoming the youngest to achieve the same feat in the last fourty-odd years after Roberto Galia's goal against Bologna back in 1981.
The future appears to be bright for this one.
