Martin Odegaard got back on the scoresheet in Arsenal’s 3-0 Champions League victory over GNK Dinamo on Wednesday night, and his efforts were recognised in various Teams of the Week.

LiveScore included Odegaard and handed him an 8.9 rating, Sofascore also included the Arsenal captain and rated him 8.5, whilst WhoScored landed in between with an 8.81 rating.

Justifying Odegaard’s inclusion in their Team of the Week, WhoScored’s Sam Hammond wrote that the midfielder had capped “a fine creative display with a goal of his own”.

Odegaard created five chances across the 90 minutes, including one big chance, and his passing was on point all night. The midfielder completed 41 of 45 attempted passes and six of eight crosses to keep Arsenal flowing in possession.

The 26-year-old’s teammates were a little wasteful, as has often been the case lately, so there were no assists for him on this occasion.

But the club captain got his goal contribution in the end, bundling home a deflected Leandro Trossard cross for 3-0.

The goal was a significant one, as it was Odegaard’s first open-play goal of the season. He’d assisted six goals and scored a penalty, but he hadn’t netted from a non-penalty situation since last April.

That goal was away to Wolves, Arsenal’s upcoming opponents on Saturday. Repeating the trick and getting a run going this weekend would be very welcome.
