Arsenal are in the transfer market for attacking reinforcement before the transfer deadline.

A centre-forward and winger could be the priorities for manager Mikel Arteta.

TZ journalist Philipp Kessler now claims that Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in wonderkid Mathys Tel, who opened the door to leave Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

The Gunners have tracked Tel from his Rennes days and ‘appreciate‘ him. The club could explore a deal as they look to fill the void left by injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

Bayern would prefer a short-term loan for the season, but Kessler reports that well-known clubs would like to sign the Frenchman permanently.

Chelsea have been linked with the youngster for some time, but he does not want to join them.

Tel would provide a double solution for Arsenal

The teenager had a solid 2023/24 campaign with 16 goal contributions from just over 1,400 minutes under manager Thomas Tuchel.

He has not progressed this term with his playing time reduced under manager Vincent Kompany.

Tel has accumulated less than 400 minutes, contributing one assist. He has been rotated across the attack at the Bavarian heavyweights.

The Frenchman is now prepared for a new challenge. In our opinion, Arsenal could propose to sign him on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Tel would be a perfect Mikel Arteta signing. He can operate on the left wing, right wing or as the main striker. His versatility would suit Arsenal.

Arsenal lack adequate competition on the right wing and up front due to injuries. The Rennes graduate would provide a double solution for Arteta.

Tel possesses brilliant pace and has good dribbling skills. He plays with plenty of intent and has the knack for getting into good goalscoring positions.

The youngster has been described as a ‘superb finisher‘ by Thomas Muller. He would be a shrewd acquisition for the Gunners this winter.

If Arsenal were to sign him and Sverre Nypan, it would represent a good winter transfer window.
