Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner pulls off ultimate gender reveal after USMNT win

The U.S. men's national team got a kick out of their goaltender's creative gender reveal.

American goalkeeper Matt Turner celebrated with teammates Monday night after kicking open a prop soccer ball to reveal he and his wife, Ashley Herron, are expecting a baby girl later this year.

Following a 1-0 shutout win over El Salvador, Turner gathered with teammates on the pitch for the planned baby gender reveal. The public address announcer at Exploria Stadium in Orlando even alerted the remaining fans to what was happening.

After the ball was kicked open, the team mobbed Turner as if he saved a penalty save to win the World Cup.

The child will be the second for Turner and Herron, who welcomed a baby boy, Easton, in June 2022.

Herron is a former New England Patriots cheerleader. The two met when Turner was the goalkeeper for MLS side New England Revolution, which shares a playing venue (Gillette Stadium) with the Patriots.

Turner currently plays for Arsenal in the English Premier League and was the primary keeper for the USMNT at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
