Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum is being assessed before a decision is made as to whether she joins up with Norway this week, after collapsing during Sunday’s League Cup final.

Maanum collapsed on the pitch towards the end of normal time during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Chelsea.

The midfielder went down off the ball and was treated by medical staff on the pitch at Molineux, before being carried off on a stretcher while receiving oxygen.

Arsenal confirmed after the game Maanum was conscious, talking and in a stable condition. She is continuing to be monitored, but it is understood she is doing well.

The 24-year-old is due to join up with the Norway squad this week as they begin their Euro 2025 qualifying campaign with games against Finland and Holland, but she is yet to do so.

Instead, Maanum is still being assessed by Arsenal and a decision will be made as to whether she goes on international duty.

Norway manager, Gemma Grainger, said on Sunday: “We are very sad to see the news about Frida. Our team is in dialogue with Arsenal and we will be following up closely. We send her our warmest thoughts and wishes.”
