This past summer, Athletic Club’s Nico Williams was the center of a whirlwind of transfer rumors, attracting interest from top clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.

After an impressive 2023-24 season, in which he made 37 appearances and helped Athletic Club win the 2024 Copa del Rey, Williams also played a crucial role in Spain’s triumph at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.

Despite all the buzz, the UEFA Euro 2024 winner chose to stay with Athletic Club. However, Cadena COPE has reported that another major European club is eyeing the winger, who is expected to be a sought-after player next summer.

During the Tiempo de Juego program on Cadena COPE, director Paco González revealed that Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on Williams. However, his potential move to the Santiago Bernabéu would depend on certain developments within the current squad.

Fichajes reports that Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are all keen on the young Spanish attacker, reportedly offering around €150 million to secure his transfer.

Chelsea aim to bolster its attacking options following a disappointing season, while Arsenal, fresh off a resurgence in the Premier League, seeks to enhance its squad’s depth and quality.

PSG, after recent restructuring, are also on the hunt for top talent to maintain its dominance in Ligue 1 and improve its performance in the UEFA Champions League.

It’s hard to imagine any club paying €150 million for Williams, but perhaps that might have been the asking price after winning UEFA Euro 2024 this past summer.

However, the 22-year-old has two goals and two assists in 11 total appearances to start this season. Should Williams not have a stellar campaign, it’s hard to envision PSG or any club paying north of €100 million.
