James Benge reports that Arsenal’s Ben White has undergone a minor procedure on a joint issue he’s been carrying in recent weeks, playing through the pain.

Charles Watts confirms that it’s a small knee operation, with the aim to get the problem cleared up for good.

As for the length of the potential injury absence, reliable reports are few and far between.

Football insider Team News and Ticks reports on Patreon that though the club have assured him the surgery was minor, they won’t put a timeframe on the player’s recovery.

Other rumours on social media suggest it could be around eight weeks, or possibly a fortnight more or less than that.

If that’s the case, Arsenal will hope for an injury-free period for Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Fully fit, the pair should provide a very strong couple of options for Mikel Arteta in White’s absence. But neither have been able to stay consistently available for the last 12 months.

On the other side, the return of Riccardo Calafiori would ensure that Timber and Tomiyasu could focus their attentions fully on the right-back position. Kieran Tierney should also make his comeback soon.
