Arsenal 26yo in transfer limbo as interested clubs delay offers
Aaron Ramsdale’s future remains uncertain with no movement towards a transfer, delaying any Arsenal plans to replace him.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Aaron Ramsdale’s situation is completely quiet at the moment, with no new movements or updates for a while.
Romano suggests that something could still happen later in the window, if and when one or two other goalkeepers move to set a chain of transfers in motion. But for now, nothing is happening.
If Ramsdale does leave this summer, Romano adds that Arsenal might need one more goalkeeper signing, despite bringing in David Raya from Brentford and young goalkeepers Tommy Setford and Lucas Nygaard this summer.
Earlier this week, reports suggested that Nottingham Forest were eyeing a move for Ramsdale, but they were hoping for a loan later in the summer.
It’s possible there are one or two other clubs biding their time with the Arsenal goalkeeper, hoping he’ll be available on more favourable terms when time is running out. Ramsdale has also been linked with Southampton recently.
The goalkeeper is currently away on holiday following the Euros, with Mikel Arteta confirming that he’ll return to training at the end of this week.
Ramsdale made 11 appearances in 2023/24, losing his starting spot to David Raya.
The England goalkeeper has publicly suggested he doesn’t want another year of not playing regular matches, but he might have to settle for that outcome if bids don’t start coming in.
