Ariana Madix prefers to keep things low key — at least when it comes to her skincare regimen.

The 38-year-old Vanderpump Rules star, who recently made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, shared her laid-back morning routine in a new installment of Elle’s video series “Waking Up With.”

In her typical unfiltered fashion, Madix jokingly states that the first thing she does each morning is “scream and cry that I have to be awake.”

“I don’t really like mornings, so I try to keep it as low-key as possible,” she says later in the video. “Really doing the bare minimum.”

After finally getting out of bed, Madix heads to her bathroom for some skincare. She starts with putting cold water on her face to help wake herself up before going in with a simple routine that’s centered around hydration.

Her first step is applying Laneige Cream Skin Cerapeptide Toner and Moisturizer with a cotton round, though she readily admits, “I don’t know what cerapeptide means.” Madix follows it up with COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and COSRX Snail 92 All in One Cream for even more hydration.

“I think my skin type is just getting older,” she says with a laugh. “I have these lines around my eyes.”

When a producer asks Madix if she has a dermatologist or a facialist who recommends her products, she replies, “No, I don’t. I wish I had a dermatologist. Maybe my skin would look better.”

Madix then says she’s “never been to a dermatologist” before quickly correcting herself. “Oh, except for one time when I had melanoma, which was not fun,” she adds.

In 2019, Madix revealed she had a melanoma removed from her chest.

“When you raise concerns with a doctor, be persistent,” she said at the time. “They told me I was fine for years.”

The Broadway newbie, who has appeared on the Bravo reality series Vanderpump Rules since its premiere in 2013, made headlines in 2023 when it was revealed that her ex-boyfriend and costar Tom Sandoval had cheated on her with castmate Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.

In December 2023, it was announced that Madix would be making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart Chicago. The star’s limited run began on January 29 and is set to end on March 24.

On screen, the Vanderpump Rules cast continues to deal with the fall out of the cheating scandal. In an episode that aired on Tuesday, April 2, Madix and Sandoval got into a heated argument over Sandoval’s treatment of the former couple’s dog, Mya.

“I’m not saying that Ariana needs to forgive and forget but I think maybe it would be better if Ariana released some of this anger,” cast member James Kennedy said of the situation. “It’s just probably consuming a lot of her life. I just feel like she would be more at peace if she released.”
