While Manchester City are yet to make a move this summer they continue to be linked with a host of players. Two names who are continually linked with a move to the world champions have been Joshua Kimmich and Dani Olmo. A new report suggests that City are considering a £100 million move for the duo.

Phil Thomas has reported for the Sun that Manchester City are considering a move for Joshua Kimmich and Dani Olmo. Thomas reports that Kimmich is keen to reunite with Pep Guardiola at the Premier League champions. It is also reported by Thomas that Guardiola sees the versatility and quality of Kimmich as a welcome addition to his squad. Furthermore, Thomas reports that the champions still maintain an interest in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo. Lastly, Thomas reports that the £60 million release clause in Dani Olmo’s contract is appealing to Manchester City.

There is the potential for the champions to get two quality players in for the price of one.

There is no doubt that Dani Olmo and Joshua Kimmich would add more quality to Pep Guardiola’s squad. Their pedigree is proven and they both could become important players for the world champions. That is obvious to keen observers of the game. But there is also another benefit to a possible City move for the duo.

As Phil Thomas also reports Olmo and Kimmich could both join Manchester City for the same price as Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The champions were previously linked with a potential £100 million move for three Brazilian international as reported by Sam Dean for the Telegraph. City’s reported interest in Guimaraes didn’t materialise into a bid for the Brazilian midfielder. Perhaps the champions would rather bring in two players for the same amount of money rather than spend £100 million on one player. That may prove to be the case given the new report from Phil Thomas.

It would make sense if Manchester City preferred to bring in two quality players for £100 million. Given the players could potentially be Dani Olmo and Joshua Kimmich it appears to be an obvious decision to make.
