Rangers win Diomande appeal - watch the incident

Rangers have succeeded in their appeal against Mohamed Diomande's dismissal in Sunday's win over Dundee United following a Scottish FA hearing.

Manager Philippe Clement signalled after the 3-1 Scottish Premiership victory at Tannadice that the Ibrox club would challenge the midfielder's stoppage-time red card.

Diomande was sent off following an altercation with United defender Kevin Holt, as referee Nick Walsh stuck with his original decision despite a VAR review.

The red card had been classified as violent conduct, with the 23-year-old midfielder judged to have deliberately swung his hand towards Holt's face.

"Dio gets pushed away," Clement told BBC Scotland. "There is a small reaction with his hand without touching the opponent - nothing.

"If you get red cards for this then you need to give three or four red cards in every game. I saw much worse things with yellow cards given."
