Antti Niemi signs with Stars

The Dallas Stars have signed goalie Antti Niemi to a three year deal, the team announced Monday.

Financial terms weren't disclosed by the team, but Niemi will reportedly earn $4.5 million US per season.

Dallas acquired the rights to the free-agent-to be from San Jose on Saturday for a seventh-round draft pick.

Niemi, 31, was 31-23-7 with a .914 save percentage and 2.59 goals-against average in 2014-15 for the Sharks.

He won all 16 post-season games for Chicago in 2010 when the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup title, then left for San Jose as a free agent after that season.
